On Mission to Apply the Truth of God’s Word to Life

You Want to Change the World?

Not very many people need convincing that the world needs changing. We may not agree on what changes, are needed or how to bring about those changes but very few people seem to be celebrating how wonderful everything is at present. Unfortunately, most of the changes proposed today are changes from good to bad or from bad to worse. Well-meaning politicians provide almost endless exhibits of unintended consequences and how government regulation creates more problems than it solves. Politicians that don't mean so well provide for other examples of outright injustice. Or take college students that have made the news recently for "mostly peaceful" activities on various campuses. These remarkably passionate advocates for marxist ideas and terrorist organizations seem to believe they are accomplishing some good. We could go on at great length with other examples.

Do you really want to change the world? Walk with God.

Genesis 5:24 gives a profound testimony about a man named Enoch: "Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him." The only thing we know about Enoch was that he walked with God. That's a great thing to aspire to because walking with God is the secret to changing the world.

God uses people to change the world. Ordinary people. Just like you. And the people God uses are those who are surrendered to Him, those who walk with Him.

We think we have to be in a position of power to change the world. Not so. Every single person has some influence over others. When you determine to walk with God, God leverages your life for the purposes of eternity. A simple word, a testimony for Christ, an act of service can change someone's life forever.

We think we have to be an influencer to be an influencer. The greatest way you can leave a mark on the world is not by being discovered on the internet or going viral but by walking with God daily.

Walking with God is something that takes no special talent. Walking with God takes no special intellect or gifting. Walking with God is something anyone can do at any age. If you're discouraged about the state of the world, walk with God. It's never too late to start. Start walking with God and start changing the world!
